A special gift – leaving a bequest.

Have you thought about leaving a gift in your will? Your generosity will help us provide our services, and issue more WanderSearch tracking devices to people who need them.

We support people who have a cognitive impairment, and in particular those who are at risk of going missing in the community, to live healthy active lifestyles.  This gives peace of mind to their families and loved ones. We support everyone in need;  from toddlers to people in their 90’s.

Leaving a gift in your will, no matter how small, is an incredible legacy to leave.

What your gift will go towards

As a non-profit, non-government funded organisation, we strive to make this program accessible to all who need it. Your generous gift will significantly benefit our most vulnerable communities and continue to do so for years to come.

It is totally up to you how much you give. To give you an idea, $5,000 would enable us to provide 11 clients with a new tracking device and cover the maintenance for a year (devices currently cost $350 each and they cost $120 annually to maintain).  

There are different types of gifts you can leave in your will, including:

Specific: you can decide on a specific amount of money to give to the charity.

Residual: you can allocate a percentage or the remainder of your estate after other distributions have been paid.

How to leave a gift

Before you make or update your Will, we encourage you to talk to your loved ones about your decision first. If you choose to leave a gift in your Will to WanderSearch Auckland, we recommend that you seek independent legal advice to ensure your will is legally valid and your wishes are clearly articulated. They can advise you on how to leave a gift in your Will while still making sure your family and loved ones are taken care of.
